Safety Policies

Safety Policies

At Expedition Reptile LLC, we have strict a strict safety policy in place for the protection of our audience members and our reptiles.

During our shows we adhere to the following strict guidelines:

last updated: 1/14/26

  • We ask that all audience members, who would like to touch or hold a reptile, sanitize their hands so that our reptiles do not get sick and so that the audience member does not smell like their fluffy pet and gets mistaken for a snack.

  • We provide hand sanitizer for all audience members for after touching any reptile.
  • We REQUIRE that all four-legged-family members be kept away in a separate closed room or other area at all times while we are there for the safety of both our animals and yours.
  • No audience member is allowed to walk away from an Expedition Reptile performer or assistant while holding a reptile.
  • No audience member is allowed to hand off a reptile to anyone else other than the Expedition Reptile performer or assistant.

  • We will have a first aid kit available at all times during a show.

What NEVER Happens at Our Shows

No venomous reptiles – We only bring docile ambassadors to our shows.

No loose animals – All reptiles are in our hands or in secure enclosures at all times. Unless someone is holding one, but we are right there with them, they are not allowed to walk away. Anyone holding a reptile must stay right next to us the entire time.

No forced interaction – Audience opts in; we read body language.

❌ We will NEVER present a snake headfirst to any audience member.

Reptile Safety Rules and Rules of Audience Engagement for Our Performers and Crew.

When handling reptiles during the show please remember these very important rules of engagement to keep everyone safe.

  • When holding a reptile, NEVER approach anyone who is afraid or does not want to get too close. (always ask before approaching anyone and do not pressure them)
  • NEVER present a snake head-first to any audience member. ALWAYS present a snake or reptile tail first and keep the head closest to you.
  • When presenting a reptile to the audience to allow them to see or touch ALWAYS make sure you are in complete control of the head (for a snake). You must ALWAYS know where the head is at ALL times.
  • NEVER approach any audience member who is afraid and / or not ready to engage.
  • ALWAYS make sure that anyone who wants to hold or touch a reptile, sanitize their hands first so that the reptiles do not get sick, and make sure that your hands are also sanitized as well.
  • Never give anyone a reptile to hold unless you are sure they are confident, always leave a hand under the reptile until you are confident that they are comfortable, so that they do not drop the reptile.
  • If you notice that a snake’s neck and head “S” up into what looks like a striking position, (or if they strike out or become stressed out) return to the main table to let me know.
